Happycake (www.happycake.etsy.com)

Happycake is a one-woman-show run by me, Erica.  I love to make all kinds of goodies and base my creations on the premise that our everyday lives shouldn't be taken too seriously.  Life can get crazy enough - something like jewelry should put a smile on your face.  It is called Happycake because my son called all sweets "happycake" when he was first learning to talk, and to me, it just fits.  Sweets make me happy, fun jewelry makes me happy, and (of course!) my little guy makes me happy. Cheers!

Lea Keohane (LeaKarts.etsy.com)

My drawings, paintings, and other crafty endeavors (no, I can never settle on just one medium!), are very intuitive. Most of them are either created during, or inspired by, my daily ritual of randomly drawing in my sketchbook for at least an hour before anyone else in my household awakens. I am inspired by many things: dreams, friends and family, introspection, cemeteries, music, quiet, comic books, Art Nouveau, Pop Art, and bright colors. I grew up in Denver, Colorado, but I have been in Portland since 1997. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Drawing, Painting, and Printmaking from Portland State University in 2002.

Fused Glass House (www.fusedglasshouse.com)

As a full-time artist and mama to two crazy wonderful boys, I draw on every wild force around me for ideas of how I want to be in this world. I believe creating is the most important act in maintaining a sane life.  I have been working in the medium of glass since 1995. Being self-taught, my influences are as varied as travel can be, taking in produce displays at markets, and hiking trails through mossy forests and over empty lava flows. Tempered by the volatility and purity of emotion, I use the inherently vibrant colors of glass to evoke a tapestry of contrasts. Fusing enables me to share my tumult and visions with the world.  I work in conjunction with my partner Kirk McLaughlin, who approaches things with daring and finesse, offers many fresh ideas and spills over with constant support. He toils in the midnight hours, listening to progressive talk radio and the Pixies, bent over a child's school desk with many small lights, in our studio with the sky blue walls.

Our contemporary fused glass and silver jewelry catches the light, teases the eye, and when wearing it, you should be prepared for compliments!
